In a move no one saw coming Matt LeBlanc, yes Joey from Friends, has been announced as the new Top Gear presenter. He will join Chris Evans (not Captain America) in the new line-up, and is the first non-British host in the show’s 39-year history.
Matt’s move might seem more than a little random at first, but he’s actually got history with the show, before now he has appeared as a guest on the show as a ‘star in a reasonably priced car’ topping the leaderboard with a fastest lap time ever and has also been involved with BBC America show Top Gear: The Races.
In the press release from the show Matt seems pretty happy about it.”As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter,” “What a thrill!”
Many people have had their doubts about the new look Top Gear minus Clarkson and friends, but with this news things are starting to look up for the new series and with more news coming soon about another member of the line-up, excitement is really starting to build that the new Top Gear will be able to rival Clarkson’s new Amazon show.
